Inspector with Legal Expertise at IVO in Jönköping

Do you want to make a real difference in people's everyday lives? At the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO), you will help develop state supervision and licensing processes – work that contributes to safer and more secure health and social care. We are now looking for an inspector with legal expertise in Jönköping.

About the Job

As an inspector, you will investigate and assess the professional practice of licensed health and medical care personnel based on current regulations.

Your main tasks as an inspector will include:

  • investigating cases concerning the professional practice of licensed health and medical care personnel, for example related to illness (e.g., addiction), competence, prescription of medications, care and treatment, or record-keeping
  • reviewing patient records, prescriptions, and other relevant documentation
  • conducting conversations and meetings with individual practitioners under IVO's supervision
  • being the lead case handler in some cases and a co-handler in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases
  • working closely with colleagues nationally, including inspectors from various professions as well as supervisory dentists and physicians
  • contributing to cross-professional assessments and joint positions
  • making or preparing decisions in cases, and if necessary, preparing reports to the Health and Medical Care Responsibility Board (HSAN).

This position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, based in Jönköping.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a law degree (LL.B. or other education that IVO deems equivalent)
  • at least two years of relevant work experience from the public sector
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The role requires a high level of objectivity, integrity, as well as good judgment and analytical skills to make well-founded and legally secure assessments. To succeed in this role, good collaboration skills and the ability to contribute your professional perspective in cross-professional contexts are required. You need to feel confident in your competence and have the ability to work independently and drive cases forward with clear structure and responsibility for progress. We continuously develop our methods and working practices, which means you need to be able to adapt to new conditions.

In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • experience from the courts, such as serving as a clerk or working as a legal advisor
  • experience in supervisory work
  • experience in decision-making or decision-preparatory roles
  • experience from IVO's supervisory areas in health and medical care.

What IVO Can Offer You

We offer a developing role in a dynamic knowledge organization where you contribute to developing modern and effective supervision. We continuously improve our working methods and strive for a composition of employees that reflects the diversity of society.
